1. About These Terms

The Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia Inc. (“CMBA-BC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website cmbabc.ca, including all related pages, member portals, education platforms, tools, and services (collectively, the “Website”).

By accessing or using the Website, applying for or renewing membership, registering for events or education, creating an account, or otherwise engaging with CMBA-BC, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the “Agreement”).

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Website or CMBA-BC services.

2. Changes to These Terms

CMBA-BC may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time you access or use the Website or services will apply. Continued use constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.

3. Website Use & Licence

Subject to this Agreement, CMBA-BC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

• Access and view the Website
• Download or print materials for your personal, non-commercial use
• Access tools, resources, audio, video, and services made available to you

All content remains the property of CMBA-BC or its licensors unless otherwise stated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the Website
• Circumvent access controls or restricted areas
• Scrape, mine, harvest, or systematically collect data without written permission
• Use Website content or member information for marketing, solicitation, or outreach

CMBA-BC reserves the right to restrict or terminate access for misuse or non-compliance.

5. Accounts & Registration

Where accounts are required (including for membership, events, or education):

• You must use only your own account
• You are responsible for all activity under your login credentials
• You must notify CMBA-BC promptly of unauthorized use
• CMBA-BC may suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion

Access to the Website or services is not guaranteed and may be withdrawn at any time.

6. Membership Terms

Membership in CMBA-BC is subject to eligibility criteria, membership categories, dues, renewal requirements, and rights as set out on the Website and in CMBA-BC bylaws.

By applying for or renewing membership, you acknowledge that:

• Membership fees are non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise
• Membership may be suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms, bylaws, or applicable codes of conduct
• Voting rights apply only to eligible voting members, as defined by CMBA-BC

7. Events, Education & Courses

Registration for events, conferences, courses, or programs is subject to additional terms communicated at the time of registration, including:

• Fees, substitutions, cancellations, and refunds
• Changes to speakers, content, schedules, or delivery format
• Access to recordings, materials, or certificates

CMBA-BC reserves the right to modify or cancel events or programs where necessary.

8. Payments & Refunds

All fees are payable in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.

• Fees must be paid in full before access to events, education, or services is granted
• Refunds, cancellations, substitutions, and administrative fees are governed by CMBA-BC’s Event Cancellation & Refund Policy, as amended from time to time and published on the Website
• CMBA-BC is not responsible for bank fees, chargebacks, or third-party payment processing issues

9. Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct

Membership in CMBA-BC and participation in CMBA-BC activities are subject to compliance with CMBA-BC’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, as amended from time to time and published on the Website.

CMBA-BC may take action in accordance with its bylaws and governance policies, including suspension or termination of membership, where a member fails to comply with applicable ethical, professional, or conduct standards.

Participation in CMBA-BC events and programs is also subject to the Event Code of Conduct, which may result in removal from an event without refund.

10. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”.

CMBA-BC does not warrant that information on the Website is complete, accurate, or current. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CMBA-BC is not liable for:

• Reliance on Website content
• Loss of data
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
