Nominations are Now Open for the 2025 MB Awards!
These awards celebrate the outstanding professionals and partners who elevate our industry through excellence, leadership, and service. This is an important opportunity for members to gain visibility and be recognized for their meaningful contributions to the mortgage broker community.
We are pleased to present MB Awards in the following categories:
The MB Community Service Recognition Award honours an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing who has demonstrated outstanding service to charitable, civic, or philanthropic initiatives that support and strengthen communities across British Columbia. The focus is on meaningful, sustained impact and leadership.
The MB Individual Partner Recognition Award acknowledges an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, volunteer leadership, collaboration, and commitment to advancing the association’s mission. Examples include contributions to committees, events, education, member engagement, or government relations.
The MB Corporate Partner Recognition Award recognizes a corporate CMBA-BC member in good standing that has demonstrated exemplary partnership with the Association. Eligible organizations support CMBA-BC initiatives, member development, events, advocacy, or innovation benefiting the profession.
The MB Pioneer Award for Lifetime Achievement is presented to an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing who has demonstrated exceptional, long-term contributions to the mortgage broker profession in British Columbia. Recipients must be, or have been, licensed mortgage brokers whose primary occupation is/was arranging mortgages and who have significantly advanced the industry through leadership, advocacy, mentorship, and service to CMBA-BC.
Please note: The MB Pioneer Award for Lifetime Achievement is not open to public or member nominations.

Purpose
- Recognizes excellence, leadership, service, and partnership within the mortgage broker profession in British Columbia.
Award Categories and Descriptions
i) MB Pioneer Award for Lifetime Achievement: Presented to an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing who has demonstrated exceptional, long-term contributions to the mortgage broker profession in British Columbia.
Pioneer Award Eligibility:
- Must be or have been a licensed mortgage broker whose primary occupation is arranging mortgages.
- Must be an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing.
- Must reside in British Columbia or have carried out most of their mortgage brokering career in B.C.
- Must have no outstanding disciplinary matters with CMBA-BC or BCFSA.
- Current CMBA-BC or MBIBC directors are ineligible.
- Past recipients are not eligible.
Pioneer Award Nomination & Selection Process:
- Not open to public or member nominations.
- The MB Awards Committee confidentially identifies and recommends candidates based on cumulative industry impact, leadership, service to CMBA-BC, and professional reputation.
- The Committee may consult past recipients, long-serving members, or respected industry leaders.
- The Committee provides a written recommendation (single candidate or shortlist) to the CMBA-BC Board of Directors.
- The Board of Directors makes the final selection and must conduct full due diligence, including confirming standing, licensing history, and disciplinary status.
- As required by CMBA-BC Bylaws, the Board must approve the honorary membership designation before public announcement.
ii) MB Community Service Recognition Award: Presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to charitable, civic, or philanthropic initiatives that support and strengthen communities across British Columbia. The focus is on meaningful, sustained impact and leadership.
Community Award Eligibility:
- Must be an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing for at least one year.
- Nominees are ineligible if serving on the CMBA-BC or MBIBC Boards of Directors.
- Past recipients are not eligible for consideration.
- Must reside or work primarily in British Columbia.
- Must have no outstanding disciplinary matters.
iii) MB Individual Partner Recognition Award: Presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, volunteer leadership, collaboration, and commitment to advancing the association’s mission. Examples include contributions to committees, events, education, member engagement, or government relations.
Partner Award Eligibility:
- Must be an individual CMBA-BC member in good standing for at least one year.
- Nominees are ineligible if serving on the CMBA-BC or MBIBC Boards of Directors.
- Past recipients are not eligible for consideration.
- Must reside or primarily operate within British Columbia.
- Must have no outstanding disciplinary matters.
iv) MB Corporate Partner Recognition Award: Presented to a corporate CMBA-BC member in good standing that has demonstrated exemplary partnership with the Association. Eligible organizations support CMBA-BC initiatives, member development, events, advocacy, or innovation benefiting the profession.
Corporate Partner Award Eligibility:
- Must be a corporate CMBA-BC member in good standing for at least one year.
- Ineligible if an employee currently serves on the CMBA-BC or MBIBC Board of Directors.
- Past recipients may be reconsidered after a recommended five-year interval.
- Must conduct significant operations within British Columbia.
- Must have no outstanding disciplinary matters.
General Nomination Rules
- Member nominations (including self‑nominations) are accepted for Community Service, Individual Partner, and Corporate Partner awards.
- Pioneer Award candidates identified internally by the Awards Committee; no public nominations.
- Self‑nominations should include at least one supporting endorsement (recommended).
Nominee Consent
- Required for all categories except the Pioneer Award.
- Enhanced due diligence must be completed to verify eligibility, standing, and licensing history.
- No sensitive personal information may be disclosed.
Selection
- Awards Committee reviews nominations and selects recipients (except Pioneer Award; finalized by the Board).
- Due diligence conducted on all nominees.
Exclusions
- A nominee may be a finalist in multiple categories but can only receive one award per year.
- Pioneer Award recipients cannot be re‑nominated.
